Dewberry helped design the recently completed FedEx Ground facility in the northwest corner of Ocala, Florida. The firm performed due diligence, site/civil engineering, surveying and mapping, environmental services, permitting, construction administration, and landscape architecture design.

The 430,000-square-foot facility—expandable ultimately to 630,000 square feet—supports FedEx’s existing Orlando operations and is designed to accommodate a nearly 200,000-square-foot build-out for additional ancillary buildings. In addition to the main building, the 150-acre site includes a mechanical maintenance facility with a gas island, gateway entry building, and secure gate houses. Located within a sinkhole-prone area, Dewberry coordinated with geotechnical engineers to design a pile-supported site and enhance facility stabilization.

Dewberry’s relationship with FedEx spans nearly two decades and includes facility assessments, surveying, site/civil engineering, emergency repairs, transportation, water, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural design projects for facility renovations, expansions, and new construction.
