Cat Brown to Serve on APTI Board
Cat Brown, Assoc. AIA, LEED GA, architectural project coordinator in the Denver architecture studio, has been elected to the Association for Preservation Technology International (APTI) Rocky Mountain Chapter’s board.
APTI is a cross-disciplinary membership organization dedicated to promoting the best technology for conserving historic structures and their settings. Members, who are preservationists, architects, engineers, conservators, consultants, contractors, craftspersons, curators, developers, educators, historians, landscape architects, students, technicians and others, represent more than 30 countries.
Established in 2004, the Rocky Mountain Chapter serves Colorado, New Mexico, Montana, Wyoming and Utah, as well as members from Nebraska. The group’s activities have included a rising-damp case study seminar, field trips to historic ranches to compare rehabilitation techniques and a window restoration workshop.
“I am always looking to bridge the gap between existing and new design, and I see the opportunities through this organization to be an invaluable resource in that link,” says Cat, who has been involved with APTI for the past four years. “APTI strives to advance traditional and contemporary technology to the conservation of the built environment, and is beneficial to all building typologies both old and new.”
