Creating Smart Cities in China and the Bay Area

Civic and corporate leaders from the Bay Area and China are meeting Friday in Santa Clara to figure out how to create smarter, greener cities in both countries. Many of them are hoping to forge lucrative business deals. Faced with ever increasing power needs, China is spending a whopping $500 billion to build a smart grid, in part to improve energy efficiency.
