The Leap Motion 3D motion controller promises all-new computer interfaces, with the tracking of gestures to drive computer programs. The device tracks hand motions in three-dimensional space in order to manipulate those models in a much more intuitive fashion than is available with a mouse or other device.
The high-fidelity optical system can track four fingers by using infrared LEDs and cameras. The technology can track thousands of points at a time for intuitve manipulation of on-screen details, while also interfacing with existing applications. Watch the video below for more details and a demonstration.
